A popular weekend farmer’s market on the South Coast has been closed until further notice because of the coronavirus outbreak. The Ventura College Foundation Marketplace usually attracts thousands of visitors, and hundreds of vendors on Saturdays and Sundays.
While farmer's markets are exempt from closure orders, food is just part of the larger Marketplace event.
The three decade old event is the major fundraiser for the foundation, which among other things offers thousands of scholarships to students. There’s no word on when the Marketplace might reopen.
