Storm Brings Wide Range Of Rain To Central And South Coasts, From Showers To More Than Three Inches

A storm system hitting the Central and South Coasts has brought everything from light showers to more than three inches of rainfall to the region. Rainfall totals on the South Coast have for the most part been under an inch, except for some mountain areas. Ventura received a total of .6” of an inch of rain, Fillmore .5” and Newbury Park .2” of an inch of rainfall.   No problems were reported in the region's brush fire burn zones.

Santa Barbara County had even more rain. Santa Barbara received .75” of an inch of rain, and Solvang 1.5”.

But, the mountain totals are much higher. At KCLU’s transmitter on Gibraltar Peak, above Montecito, 2.4” of rain was recorded, and Figueroa Mountain in the Los Padres National Forest had 3.4”. Pismo Beach had 31” of rain.

We could see on and off light rain for the region into Friday, with amounts between a tenth of an inch to an inch. Another storm system could bring one to two inches more of rain starting on Sunday.
