A disbarred attorney has been sentenced to jail on the South Coast, after being convicted of continuing to practice law. Ventura County prosecutors say Jamaul Cannon first took part in a loan fraud scheme. The Los Angeles County man was suspended from practicing law in 2016, and disbarred in 2017.
But, prosecutors say while his license was suspended Cannon used the identity of another lawyer to represent a Ventura County resident.
He received a nine month jail sentence for identity theft, unlicensed practice of law and filing a false document.
