CHP Investigators Say Man Who Caused Head On Crash In Ventura County Was Under Influence Of Drugs

A Ventura County man is facing felony charge after CHP officers say he drove the wrong way on a road, and caused a fatal traffic accident. The collision occurred Tuesday afternoon on Rose Avenue, near Central Avenue outside of Oxnard.

CHP investigators say Zachary Archuletadiaz was southbound on Rose Avenue when he crossed over the center median, and began driving the wrong way in northbound lanes. His car smashed head-on into an oncoming vehicle, killing its 67-year-old driver, and seriously injuring the car’s passenger.

Archuletadiaz suffered serious injuries. CHP investigators sat the 21-year -old Port Hueneme man was driving under the influence of drugs.
