Ventura County voters appear to have chosen clear cut winners in two county supervisorial seats, and a third looks like it's headed to a runoff as a result of the Super Tuesday election.
Ventura County Elections numbers show that with 92% of precincts reporting Tuesday night, Ventura Mayor Matt LaVere appears to have won the First District Supervisorial seat. LaVere had 65% of the vote to easily outdistance the other two contenders.
In the Third Supervisorial District, with 84% of precincts reporting, incumbent Kelly Long has a 60% to 40% lead over challenger Kim Stephenson.
And, in the Fifth Supervisorial District, it appears there will be a runoff in November. With 92% of precincts reporting, Oxnard Mayor Tim Flynn is the top vote-getter, with 35% of the vote. Oxnard City Council member Carmen Ramirez is in second with 24% of the vote. Two other candidates split the remaining votes, keeping Flynn and Ramirez from reaching the 50% threshold to win outright.
