Work Getting Underway On New $200 Million Dollar, 50 Acre High School Campus On South Coast

Work is set to officially get underway Wednesday on construction of the newest high school on the South Coast. Oxnard’s Del Sol High School will be a state of the art $200 million dollar, 270,000 square foot school complex. It’s being built on nearly 50 acres of land at Camino Del Sol and Gibraltar Streets in Oxnard.

The new campus is intended to help deal with overcrowding at other Oxnard Union High School District campuses. Del Sol High School is designed to handle about 2500 students, and will include classrooms, sports fields, and a pool.

About $145 million dollars of the project will be funded by bond measures already approved by voters. The state is expected to contribute about $65 million dollars. Plans call for it to be completed in time for the 2022-2023 academic year.
