30+ Arrested in Crackdown On Human Trafficking On Central, South Coasts

A joint, three county law enforcement effort to combat human trafficking has resulted in more than 30 arrests, and 20 plus victims being helped. What’s being called “Operation Reclaim and Rebuild” used sting operations to catch traffickers. Massage parlors where there have been reports of illegal sexual activity were also targeted. The arrests ranged from pimping and pandering to possession of drugs and firearms.

Agencies involved ranged from the Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s offices to prosecutors, and the FBI.

One of the big goals of the campaign was to help rescue trafficking victims, and to provide them with social services to help get their lives back on track.
