Man Covicted Of Real Estate Fraud Involving Multiple Elderly Victims In Ventura County
A man could face more than 13 years in state prison, after being convicted of multiple counts of real estate fraud in Ventura County targeting senior citizens. Ventura County prosecutors say James Anthony Rojas of Riverside filed false liens and deeds. They say in one instance alone, he swindled a victim out of $1.8 million dollars.
The 63-year-old man was convicted of nine felony counts, including foreclosure fraud, grand theft, and recording false documents. Prosecutors say Rojas has prior real estate fraud convictions, and has charges pending against him for similar cases in the Bay Area, and Los Angeles.
