Bus Fares Going Up For Some South Coast Riders

Fares are going up this month for some bus riders on the South Coast. The Ventura County Transportation Commission is hiking charges for its intercity bus system. Starting next Monday, full fare service will go from $1.50, to $1.75 for a single trip.

The discounted fares for seniors, those on Medicare, and those with disabilities will go from 75 cents to 80 cents.

Ventura County college students with valid ID’s will still be able to ride for free. The hikes are part of phased in increases approved in 2018 to help cover rising operational costs.
