Authorities are trying to figure out why a man was struck, and killed by a train on the South Coast.
It happened just after 7;30 Tuesday morning, on the tracks near La Conchita in Ventura County. Union Pacific officials called 911 and reported someone had been hit.
Ventura County firefighters say the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name hasn't been released. The rail line was closed for hours due to the investigation of the death.
