South Coast City Getting New Police Chief

A South Coast city is getting a new police chief. Ventura County Sheriff’s Captain Jose Rivera will be Ojai’s new top law enforcement officer. Rivera has been with the Sheriff’s Office for nearly three decades.

He’s worked as an investigator in the Narcotics, and Major Crimes units. He’s also served as a Watch Commander overseeing patrol operations.

Rivera will take over his new post next month. He fills the vacancy created by the promotion of Captain Jim Fryhoff to Thousand Oaks Police Chief.
