Rose Parade Float From Central Coast University Gets Prime Spot In 2020 Parade
The Rose Parade is just a few weeks away, and a team of volunteers working on a Central Coast university’s float got some big news about it. The Cal Poly Float will for the first time be almost at the beginning of the parade. It will be the fourth element in the 2020 parade, and the second float. It means it will get a lot of attention from the more than 60 million people watching the parade on TV around the world.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly Pomona team up every year to build a float. This year’s entry is called “Aquatic Aspirations,” and will feature an underwater scene with animated sea creatures.
Students and faculty members worked all year to create the float, but after Christmas hundreds of volunteers will take part in final preparations, which includes covering the float with flowers.
