It took an eight month long search, but a Central Coast school district finally has a new superintendent. Antonio Garcia has been picked as the new head of the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District.
Garcia comes from the Riverside School District, where he is currently an Assistant Superintendent. He’s been an educator for more than two decades, starting as a teacher before becoming an assistant principal and principal.
Garcia fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Mark Richard last spring, who stepped down after seven years at the post.
