Sports Broadcasting Icon Who Got Start On South Coast Joins Radio Hall Of Fame

A South Coast college graduate who got his start in broadcasting in Santa Barbara has received one of the industry’s highest honors. Radio and television sports talk show host Jim Rome has been inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.

Rome graduated from UC Santa Barbara, and got his first on-air jobs at Santa Barbara radio and television stations. He currently hosts a national TV sports talks show on the CBS Sports Network, and a simulcast national sports radio show on CBS Sportsradio.

Rome was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in New York City over the weekend. Other honorees included Ryan Seacrest, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, and the longtime Los Angeles morning radio team Keven and Bean.
