Brush Fire Forcing Evacuations In Eastern Ventura County

A brush fire is burning in eastern Ventura County, between Simi Valley and Moorpark. The blaze is near Tierra Rejada Road, south of Highway 118.

What’s being called the Easy Fire started at around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.  As of 7 a.m., it had burned about 15 acres of land.

There are evacuations taking place around the Tierra Rejada Road area. At this point, Highway 118 and Highway 23 remain open. The fire is near the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, but it is not considered to be immediately threatened.

The fire is burning in the hills, and not in nearby neighborhoods.
