Red Flag Warning For High Brush Fire Danger On South Coast Cancelled, But New One Possible Sunday

The Central and South Coast are getting a break with the weather Saturday, with the Santa Ana winds easing enough that Red Flag Warning for parts of the region was cancelled Friday night. We are still seeing wind in the 15 to 30 mile an hour range. There’s some cooling expected Saturday, but Sunday is predicted to show an even bigger drop in temperatures.

But, the break could be a short one, with high winds setting the stage for another Santa Ana event Sunday night and Monday.

The reduced brush fire danger due to the weather prompted Southern California Edison to cancel all public safety power outages in Ventura County yesterday. Just under 13,000 customers in the county still face the potential of outages.

Santa Barbara County’s Edison customers have been dropped from the potential outage list by the company.
