Santa Barbara County firefighters are on the scene of a brush fire burning on the Gaviota coast. The fire is reported to be off of Highway 101, in the area of El Capitan State Beach.
There’s no word yet on the size of the fire, which was reported at around 4:30 Thursday afternoon. Aircraft have been called in to aid firefighters at the scene. The area is sparsely populated, but there are campgrounds in the area.
