Woman Dead, Suspect Killed In Confrontation With Sheriff's Deputies in Santa Barbara County

One person is dead, and a person considered to be a suspect in the killing was shot to death by sheriff's deputies at the home of a famous actor in Santa Barbara County.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home on the 4000 block of Mariposa Drive in Hope Ranch just after 8 Tuesday night, by reports of a domestic disturbance.  They found a body of a woman in the home, and an elderly man who was unhurt.

Deputies started searching the area for a suspect, and found him on the property.  Investigators aren't sayin if he was armed, but say he presented a threat to the officers.  Multiple deputies opened fire, hitting and killing the man.  The name of the woman, and the man who was shot to death haven't been released.

The property has been the longtime home of actor Ron Ely, who is best known for playing "Tarzan" in a 1960's TV series.
