Authorities say plans to dedicate a permanent memorial to victims of the Borderline Bar and Grill attack are on track to take place on the first anniversary of the incident. What’s being called the Healing Garden is being built in Conejo Creek North Park.

It includes elements like water features, as well as stone bench memorials for each of the 12 people who died in the November 7th, 2018 attack. The City of Thousand Oaks gave the Conejo Recreation and Park District $250,000 to build the project.

A dedication ceremony is played for Thursday, November 7th, with a large crowd expected for the 3:15 p.m. ceremony. That part of the park will be closed to the public the day of the event until 2:30, to allow for advance preparations for the event.
