Public Safety Power Shutoffs Prompt Some School Closures In Ventura County

Public Safety Power Shutoffs in Ventura County triggered by Southern California Edison to try to prevent brush fires due to high wind prompted some school closures in the county for Friday.

The Fillmore Unified School District cancelled all classes for the second day in a row.  The Simi Valley Unified School District also shut down operations for the day.

Los Cerritos Middle School, and Lang Ranch Elementary School in the Conejo Valley Unified School District cancelled all Friday classes.

MATES Charter school in Thousand Oaks cancelled school for the day, as did Mupu School near Santa Paula.

Moorpark College cancelled all classes today, but Ventura and Oxnard Colleges are open
