High brush fire danger predicted for this week could result in some Public Safety Power Shutoffs on the Central and South Coasts.
Southern California Edison has put more than 21,000 customers on notice in Ventura County of a possible shutoff. The impacted areas includes parts of Camarillo, Fillmore, the Santa Rosa Valley, Ventura, the unincorporated area north of Moorpark, Piru, and Santa Susana.
Meanwhile, Santa Barbara County officials said Wednesday morning that initial reports that a handful of PG&E customers in the northern part of the county would be impacted by shutoffs were incorrect.
PG&E reported Tuesday night that just over two dozen customers outside of Santa Maria could be affected. County officials say there are no shutoffs planned by either utility in the county as of Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service is predicting a Red Flag Alert for high brush fire danger for parts of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties Thursday with the most dangerous conditions expected during the daytime hours. Stong wind is also expected for Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, but it isn't expected to reach Red Flag levels.
