A performing arts center on the South Coast has announced plans to beef up security, adding bag inspections and metal detectors at its public entrances.
The performing arts complex at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza has added the screening requirements for people arriving at the Fred Kavli Theater and the Scherr Forum.
The performing arts complex also adopted a list of prohibited items. Officials with the center say they’ve taken the steps to insure the safety as guests. But, they also note that many performers in their contracts now require the screening of ticketholders.
The new procedures go into effect October 1st. Officials say as a result of the changes, people should plan on arriving at the performing arts complex for their event at least a half hour before showtime.
