A brush fire is burning in Ventura County, in a remote area of the Los Padres National Forest.

The fire started Sunday afternoon in the mountains northwest of Ojai, near the Lockwood Valley area.

More than 100 acres of brush burned by early Sunday evening, but no structures were reported to be threatened.

Firefighters aided by air tankers have been fighting the fire, which put up a huge plume of smoke visible for miles.
