A Ventura County couple is dead after their car was broadsided by another vehicle in a rural area northwest of Cal State Channel Islands. CHP investigators say Lawrence and Teruyo Washington were in a northbound car on Las Posas Road just before eight Thursday night when another car on Laguna Road ran a stop sign, and hit them.
The Camarillo residents were pronounced dead at the scene. The two people in the other car escaped with minor injuries.
The CHP is investigating to try to determine exactly what led to the deadly collision.
