Prosecutors Say Ventura County Woman Headed To Jail For Embezzlement

A Ventura County woman has been sentenced to two years in jail for embezzling money from a business, and a businessman. Prosecutors say Sarah Peet of Thousand Oaks had been working as a bookkeeper and controller.

One of her employers was the company which manages the Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura. Investigators say she wrote unauthorized check to herself, forged employee signatures, and manipulated software. They say the total losses topped $200,000.

Prosecutors say Peet entered guilty pleas to seven felony charges, including grand theft and identity theft.
