Governor Signs Bill By South Coast Legislator Intended To Aid Crackdown On Human Trafficking

The governor has signed into law a bill by a South Coast legislator intended to beef up the fight against human trafficking. SB 630 clears the way for local government agencies to create ordinances requiring the posting of information on human trafficking hotlines.

Many businesses meet posting requirements, but up until now there was no clear enforcement tool for those who failed to comply with the law.

SB 630 was authored by Democratic State Senator Henry Stern, who represents parts of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.
