The Central and South Coasts have some of the higher home prices in the state, but a new survey shows that if you can figure out how to buy one, the region also has some of the lowest closing costs. The SmartAsset.com report shows that Ventura County has the seventh lowest closing costs in the state, at 1.1% of the home’s value.
The median home value in the county is currently at $520,000.
San Luis Obispo County is ninth and Santa Barbara County tenth, also at around 1.1%. San Luis Obispo County’s median home value is currently right at $500,000, while Santa Barbara County is at $509,000.
Marin County currently has the lowest closing costs in the state, at .08%. But, the median price of a home there is currently more than $900,000.
