A hazardous materials fire in a Ventura County industrial park early Tuesday morning prompted some evacuations.

The blaze was first reported just at 6 a.m. on the 100 block of West Cochran Street.

Ventura County firefighters arrived to find thick smoke billowed from a building.  The Cochran Industrial park was evacuated, some nearby businesses were closed, and people in some homes on the outskirts of the area were ordered to shelter in places.

Firefighters were able to control the blaze in about two hours.  One minor injury was reported.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
