Dozens Displaced By Pair Of Fires At South Coast Apartment Complex

Dozens of people have been displaced by two apparently separate fires which hit a South Coast apartment complex, leaving it heavily damaged. The first fire hit the two story complex on Althea Court in Oxnard at around 9:30 Friday night.

It was limited to one unit. Then, at about 11 Saturday morning, a second blaze broke out.

Firefighters think it started in a unit next to the one where the Friday night blaze occurred, and spread through the attic area of the building.

In all, about nine units were hit, with some heavily damaged. Two people suffered minor injuries. The causes of the fires are still under investigation.
