Man Pleads Guilty In Ventura County Real Estate Scam; Trio Swindled Woman Out Of Property

A man could spend five years in state prison after Ventura County prosecutors say he swindled a property owner out of her land.

Prosecutors say Andrew Levy and two other people falsely claimed that the victim reneged on a deal to sell their property. Investigators say they trio then filed a fraudulent lawsuit.

Because the victim didn’t know about the lawsuit, she didn’t contest it, and a judge awarded the property to one of the conspirators. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer.

Levy pled guilty to two felony counts of filing a false document, along with a special allegation. In addition to the prison time, the 60 year old Los Angeles man is expected to be ordered to pay restitution when he’s sentenced later this month.
