Lightning is blamed for triggering a small brush fire in Ventura County north of Simi Valley

Ventura County firefighters say lightning sparked a small brush fire outside of Simi Valley which destroyed part of an old movie set.

The half acre blaze was discovered just after midnight Monday north of the city, at Big Sky Movie Ranch.

Firefighters say the fire went out by itself, due to showers in the area, as well as a lack of dry fuel. They mopped up the scene Monday, and confirmed lighting had triggered the small fire.
