A bomb gthreat led to the evacuation of Santa Barbara County's Administration building Wednesday

A bomb threat forced the evacuation of the Santa Barbara County Administration building, but it turned out to be nothing more than a threat. Someone called 911 just before 11 Wednesday morning and made the threat.

Employees noticed a suspicious package in the first floor of the building. Santa Barbara Police and Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene. Some K-9 units from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Cal State San Bernardino which happened to be training in Ventura County also responded to help.

After the Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was called to the scene, it determined that there was nothing dangerous in the package. People were allowed to return to the building at around 2 p.m.
