Orchid Fans From Around The World Headed To Santa Barbara County

This is a huge weekend for flower fans on the South Coast. The main exhibit hall at Santa Barbara’s Earl Warren Showgrounds is home to something that’s become one of the biggest events in the orchid world. The 74th Annual Santa Barbara International Orchid Show takes place this weekend.

The theme of this year’s show is “Orchid Magic,” and it features an almost Disneyland like exhibit created by Carpinteria’s Westerlay Orchids. It’s a Cinderella carriage, complete with a real life Cinderella and animated mice.

The show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Sunday at the Earl Warren Showgrounds. There’s also a vendor hall which features plants, and accessories from around the world.
