String Of Arson Attacks On South Coast; Man Arrested

There’s been an arrest in connection with a string of arson fires in a Ventura County community.

During the last three months, investigators say there have been more than a half dozen intentionally set blazes in Fillmore.  They’ve involved everything from trash cans to three buildings.

This past Sunday morning, a man tried to set the Fillmore Historical Society building on fire.  Fortunately, there was no serious damage to the building.  But, a surveillance camera caught the whole thing on tape.

A Ventura County Sheriff’s deputy on patrol recognized Eric Manzano of Fillmore from the video.  The 32 year old Fillmore man was arrested on arson, and drug possession charges.
