Major Storm Headed To Central, South Coasts But No Watches Or Warnings For Brush Fire Burn Areas

A major storm headed to the Central and the South Coasts could bring heavy rainfall to the region this week, but the forecast at this point isn’t calling for watches or warnings for debris flows in brush fire burn areas.

The storm is expected to arrive Tuesday night, and possibly hit in two waves. Some of the heaviest rainfall could come early Wednesday morning.

Rainfall amounts could range from an inch and a half to three inches on the coast and inland, and up to five inches in some mountain areas. Meteorologists say there could be some localized street flooding in low lying areas, but are holding off on issuing flood watches.

They say there is still uncertainty over the computer models used to predict the storm track. The storm’s timing, and what areas could get the most rain are still a question mark.
