Warning Issued About Bank Related Vehicle Burglaries On South Coast

There’s a new warning in Ventura County after a string of vehicle burglaries targeting people who had just visited their banks. Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say burglars have been staking out banks, watching for people doing cash withdrawals. The burglars will then follow the victims to other locations, and break into the parked vehicle to look for cash which may have been left inside.

It’s a crime known as “Bank Jugging.”

Detectives say you should always be discreet about withdrawing cash from a bank, and don’t carry it in the open as you leave the bank lobby, or ATM.

They say you need to be aware of people who may be watching, or following you. And, they caution you not to leave cash or other valuables in your parked vehicle.
