Ventura County Assemblywoman Proposes Bill Intended To Reduce Fiream Related Suicides

A Ventura County legislator has introduced a bill intended to cut down on the number of firearm related suicides.

AB 645 would require that suicide prevention information be provided on gun packaging, on the state’s gun safety exam, and at gun shops.

Democratic Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin of Thousand Oaks introduced the bill, which she says was inspired by the gun related suicide of a Ventura County military veteran.
