Santa Barbara County Picks New Top Planning Executive

Santa Barbara County has a new head for one of its most critical agencies, one which oversees development in the county. County Supervisors approved the appointment of Lisa Plowman as Director of Planning and Development.

Plowman is currently an executive with RRM Design Group, a design firm with offices around the state.

But, before that she spent nearly a decade with the county’s Planning and Development agency, rising to Deputy Director before she left for the private sector.

Plowman takes over for Dianne Black, who has served as the county’s Interim Planning Director for nearly a year.
