The works of an acclaimed author, poet, and social commentator who died in 2015 have been donated to a South Coast university. Michele Serros was known for her commentaries on life straddling the worlds of pop culture, and her Mexican-American heritage.

The Ventura County born author did a number of commentaries for NPR, and authored several books. Serros was just 48 when she died following a battle with cancer. Her books and papers, her writing desk, and even her skateboards are going to Cal State Channel Islands. Part of the Serros collection will go on display February 14th at CSUCI’s John Spoor Broome Library.
