Ventura County Names Longtime County Official To Head Key County Post

A longtime Ventura County executive has been named as the new head of a key county agency. Kimberly Prillhart is the new director of Ventura County’s Resource Management Agency. Prillhart has been with the county for more than 20 years, including the last 10 as the county’s Planning Director.

The Resource Management Agency includes Planning, Environmental Health, Weights and Measures, Code Compliance, and Building and Safety.

Planning is a complex issue for the county, with leaders having to deal with a number of controversial oil and gas development projects, as well as an update of the County’s General Plan.

Prillhart takes over for Chris Stephens, who retired in January after 13 years as County Resource Management Agency Director.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
