Caltrans announced that as a precaution due to the impending storm, it will close a section of a state highway in Ventura County's mountains. Highway 33 will be shut down between Ojai and the Lockwood Valley Friday night.
The section of Highway 33 has had numerous mud and rock slides during storms. The closure is effective as of 6 p.m. Friday, and could last through the weekend. Residents with identification will be allowed through roadblocks if conditions allow it.
