A 75 year old Ventura County woman and her dog are dead, after they were hit by a passenger train. Oxnard Police say Kathleen Elo was walking east on Gonzales Road just after one Thursday afternoon when she walked into the path of an oncoming Amtrak train.
The Oxnard woman and her dog were both pronounced dead at the scene. The northbound train made an emergency stop. No one on board was hurt.
