Officials Confirm Body Found On South Coast Beach Is That Of Former Pro Surfer

Authorities confirm that a body found on a South Coast beach is that of a former pro surfer. Chris Brown's body was found at Hendry’s Beach in Santa Barbara Saturday.

There’s no word yet on the cause of death, or if foul play is suspected. Brown was one of the leaders on the pro surf circuit in the 1980’s and 90’s.

He later became a commercial fisherman, but still surfed for fun. An autopsy is pending. Brown was 48 years old.
