Flooding Keeps Sections Of Road, Highway In Los Padres National Forest Closed

(Ventura County Sheriff's Office photo)
One of the many flooded crossings in the Lockwood Valley area prompting road and highway clsoures.

Heavy rainfall, and snowfall continues to impact sections of a road, and a highway in Ventura County's mountains, with two areas closed.

The closures are in the Los Padres National Forest.

One closure is on Highway 33 from Fairview Road to Highway 166.  The second is Lockwood Valley Road from Highway 33 to Chico Larsen Road.  There are a number of hazardous creek crossings.

Caltrans and Ventura County Public Works crews are working on the closures, but for now people thinking about weekend outings should avoid these areas.
