A Delta IV rocket now set for liftoff from Vandenberg Air Force Base Saturday

The planned launch of a spy satellite from the Central Coast which was postponed multiple times due to technical, and weather issues is on for this weekend. United Launch Alliance is planning to launch a Delta IV rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base Saturday morning.

Liftoff is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. The rocket is carrying a payload for the National Reconnaissance Office, so details aren’t being released.

It’s a large rocket, so if the weather is clear, the liftoff should be visible throughout the Central and South Coasts.
