A planned Delta IV launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base was cancelled for the fourth time Wednesday

United Launch Alliance officials are now saying that after scrubbing their fourth attempt to launch a spy satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base Wednesday night, the earliest it will be rescheduled for is December 30th.

The Delta IV rocket launch had been set for 5:44 Wednesday night, and was bumped to 5:49 p.m. before being cancelled due to a technical issue.

Two previous launch efforts were cancelled due to technical problems, and another due to high wind conditions.

Even though the payload is secret, the launch has generated a lot of interest because it's expected it will be visible throughout the Central and South Coasts, as well as much of the state.
