SWAT Team Standoff In Ventura County Neighborhood; Eight Arrested, No One Hurt

It was a wild day in one Ventura County neighborhood. Eight people were arrested on various charges following a standoff involving a SWAT team.

It started just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, when a team of law enforcement officers was making a probation check at a Thousand Oaks home.

Some of the people at the Teasdale Street home confronted officers, and then retreated into the house. Concern that there might be weapons inside, a SWAT team and negotiators were called to the scene. Nearby Thousand Oaks High School was placed on lockdown.

Some of the people eventually came out and surrendered, while others were arrested as they tried to hide in the house, or an outdoor shed.

They are facing charges ranging from probation violation to being under the influence of drugs. It was all over by around 1:30, with no one hurt.
