With the high cost of living driving many young people to leave Ventura County, it’s created a unique challenge for the business community to attract qualified job applicants.
Business and education leaders came together for a first of a kind brainstorming summit on how they can do a better job of working together.
The Ventura County Education Summit brought together education, government, and business leaders in Camarillo Monday to look at creative ways to deal with the issue, and to build a more home grown labor force.
The participants included California Lutheran University, Cal State Channel Islands, and the Ventura County Community College system. The discussion focused on getting the business, and education communities to work more closely together is key to giving young people a bright future, and enhancing the region’s work force.
