Former Treasurer For Non-Profit Police Foundation In South Coast Charged With Embezzlement

A former treasurer for a non-profit law enforcement support group in Ventura County has been arrested on embezzlement charges.

Ventura County prosecutors say Gale Hartman was Treasurer of the Ventura Police Community Foundation.

They say the 80 year old Ventura man used the Foundation’s debit card to make nearly $120,000 cash withdrawals over a four year period, from 2014 to earlier this year.

Prosecutors say Hartman has been charged with four felony counts of embezzlement.
