There’s a new website to help California voters understand their rights and counter misinformation. A state senator who represents part of Ventura County spearheaded it.

Senator Henry Stern, whose district includes Eastern Ventura County, co-authored legislation and secured funding for this Vote Sure campaign.

It includes a web portal that consolidates important voter resources.

Secretary of State Alex Padilla says it ensures voters are vigilant against misinformation.

“We felt it important to provide a reliable, accurate source of nonpartisan information,” he says.

The website includes tools to verify your registration status and find your polling place, a link to the Voter Bill of Rights and an email to report misinformation.

Padilla says the portal clears up misperceptions.

“As long as you’re in line by 8 pm, you have the right to cast a ballot even if those poll workers have to stay extra time to accommodate anybody who is still waiting in line,” he says.

The Vote Sure website is http://votesure.sos.ca.gov.
